Review: Fifteen years? Halfway Between The Gutter & The Stars is now old enough to make a lot of us feel like we're past the halfway mark between the cradle and the grave. Regardless of any of our ages, this album has stood the test of time remarkably well with many of the tracks either sounding so original they still stand up now ('Sunset' or 'Star 69'), or they've gone full circle and returned to on-point status ('Demons'). The big sell on this, though, are the multifarious remixes. Some of them are the original 2000 shake-ups (Stanton Warrios, X-Press 2, Dave Clarke - all of which still sound awesome today) while others are brand new; Josh Butler's added a silky deep house twist of 'Love Life', Lazy Rich has added a snub-nosed electro vibe to 'Weapon Of Choice' while Hugh Hardie and Autograf have given 'Mad Flava' two insanely good facelifts. Halfway between awesome and killer.
